About a week's worth of memes

I'm catching up on Music Memoirs memes, because I haven't been able to post here in a while (*see last post for the thrilling details about why).

    Top 5 On Friday - Week 152
Because Nov 29th marked the 6th anniversary of George Harrison's death...Top 5 songs by George Harrison (Beatle, solo and Wilbury inclusive)

Rather than try to select just 5 that I think are his best, here are my the 5 that are my favorite George tracks, at the current moment. They're subject to change, of course.

Beatles - Here Comes the Sun

Solo (Cloud 9)- This is Love

    Beatles - Think for Yourself

    Solo (33 1/3) - Crackerbox Palace

    Solo (Brainwashed) - Any Road

    Tuesday Tunes - Week 11
What musical things are on your Christmas Wishlist?

Nick Lowe's last album... Kirsty MacColl's first album... The forthcoming CD by Carbon/Silicon...

Do you keep an online wishlist of music?
    Nope.
What would be your perfect music/music related gift if money were no object.
If money AND reality were no object, then my perfect gift would be... Elvis Costello or Shane MacGowan. Not the albums, mind you. The people themselves. Yep.

Reasons Why I Haven't Posted for About a Million Years

    1) I've been sick with something resembling the flu, but isn't the flu. It caused me to lose my voice for 24 hours though, so flu or not, it wasn't fun. I'm still not over it.

    2) To spare the world a rant about my disappointment at not getting to see The Police in concert. You see, I thought I was going to, but the person whose idea it was, the person who was paying for it, decided not to go.

    3) So I wouldn't have to talk about my Thanksgiving. The insanity, the cleaning, the fights, etc.

And how I had to bite my tongue while a relative (an admittedly young relative, but that's not much of an excuse) talked on about his views of theology, and how "homosexuals have a demon inside of them." I wish I knew what to say at times like that, but because I'd probably yell about How ignorant you are!!, I keep quiet.

    4) I inexplicably remembered the anniversary of George Harrison's passing. I remembered that it was around the 29th, and I wish I hadn't. I don't know what to say about that. I don't know what I could possibly say; it was one of the worst days of my life. Yup.

Now I don't feel like watching my new Help! DVD.

    *~TO DO LIST~*

  • Watch "The Young Ones", 80's BBC show, and wish they'd made more than 12 episodes.

  • Drool over wonderful King of America cover.
  • Kidnap Elvis AND Justin Lodgey AND Paul to preserve sanity and ward off post-concert depression.
  • Pretty much try to stay in a constant state of confusion (like Johnny Depp) just because of the expression it leaves on my face.
  • Protest War (feeling a little ambitious, are we?)
