    Tuesday Tunes - Week 7

    Trick Or Treat!

    What's your favorite "Sweet" song?
    Umm.... "I Want Candy"

You want to scare someone, what song do you play?
    The Pogues - Worms
(Andrea may know what I mean! LOL)

What's the song you associate most with Halloween?
Associate? My answer's going to be weird for this one.
Either the Time Warp from Rocky Horror Picture Show or The Clash's Rock the Casbah
because they used to play them at the "Ghost Train" Halloween carnival-type thing they have here.

What band makes the spookiest music?
    Oingo Boingo :)

    What's the best scary soundtrack?
The soundtrack to Nightmare Before Christmas.
If only I knew where I put it. I can't find it!

    ****

Now I have to go get ready for both Halloween and my Pogues concert. I wanna be sedated!

    Elvis Anyone?

This post is happening about a month after the fact, but here's how the Elvis Costello show in Charlotte looked.

I've been too busy to edit pictures until now (in fact I'm still too busy, but I'm doing it anyway).

(Get those people out of my shot! Grr)

EC is looking great these days, although I feel like I remember seeing that shirt from videos from '96...

And yes, driving 2 hours is worth getting to hear Blue Minute, In Another Room, American Without Tears (Twilight Version), Town Cryer.... I could go on.

I'd never seen a Costello/Nieve duo show before, but it was wonderful.

    Top 5 from Music Memoirs

Top 5 songs that creep you out/Any songs, that for whatever reason other than purely being bad music, make the hair on your neck rise?

    The Normal - Warm Leatherette

(Ok, first of all, it's about a car crash. But the actual music is just so darn creepy. It may be the scariest song I know.

Don't believe me? I just found a video someone made on youtube using the song.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWL4C7JbOw8)

Pink Floyd - Careful with that Axe Eugene

(Does this one even need an explanation?)

    The Buoys - Timothy

    Joe Jackson - Cancer

    The Pogues - Worms

(If I was to make a creepy Halloween mix, this would be on it, even though I can't stand to hear it most of the time. You know that old nursery rhyme, "the worms crawl in and the worms crawl out," etc? I knew it as a child, but their version makes it even creepier. The drummer who sings it has the lowest voice I've ever heard, and the little accordion music in the background... GAH!)

    Tuesday Tunes from Music Memoirs

I've had this stupid, horrible cold for almost a week now so I've been on the computer only minimally.

Better late than never, though... Pass the sudafed and I'll give this a shot.

More word association: What songs do you think of when you see these words?

live: X-Ray Style - Joe Strummer ("I wanna live and I wanna dance a while...")
heart: Total Eclipse of the Heart - Bonnie Tyler
concert: If I Should Fall from Grace with God - The Pogues (because I'm going to see them in concert... woot)
oldies: Splish Splash - Bobby Darin
fish: Fish Heads - Barnes and Barnes
swing: Sultans of Swing - Dire Straits
food: Cheeseburger in Paradise - Jimmy Buffett
tired: I'm So Tired - The Beatles
celebrate: Party Girl - Elvis Costello
walk: Walk of Life - Dire Straits (now that that earlier word has got me thinking about them!)

    Pirate Costume Fun

Thought I'd post the pirate girl costume I decided on!
My friend wanted to do a pirate-girl-themed thing for Halloween so I agreed to join in the fun.

Here's the pic from the website, though I'm sure this model looks better than I will:

    *~Hi~*

    *~TO DO LIST~*

  • Watch "The Young Ones", 80's BBC show, and wish they'd made more than 12 episodes.

  • Drool over wonderful King of America cover.

  • Pretty much try to stay in a constant state of confusion (like Johnny Depp) just because of the expression it leaves on my face.
  • Protest War (feeling a little ambitious, are we?)

  • *~WHATEVER~*
